Cultural Diversity
In recent years, Groningen has lost significant cultural venues like dance club Subsonic and the venue Lola.
It's time to bring back similar locations!
Night Vision
Together with the municipality, I'm working on developing Groningen's Night Vision to strengthen our nightlife.
After completion, I'll oversee its implementation!
No Curfew
Groningen's night has enjoyed no closing times for 40 years, ensuring safety, economic growth, and conviviality.
This freedom is now under threat and must be protected!
Lighting
The Martinitoren has been in the dark for months and is barely visible at night. This can't continue!
Our pride should be illuminated again soon!
Professionalization
In recent years, a solid foundation has been laid for the Night Mayorship in Groningen.
Now is the time to professionalize it!
Safe Spaces
Safe Spaces are essential in nightlife. The GGD started a pilot during the KEI-week and the Liberation Festival.
This pilot should be expanded to all major events!
Restructuring Night Council
Over the past 5 years, the Night Council has laid a strong foundation with successful projects and recognition.
Now it's time for broader representation of Groningen's night!
Unity Groningen
Since 2018, I've been working on establishing Unity Groningen, an information project about substances at events.
It's time to bring this project to Groningen!
Infopoint For Internationals
International students enjoy Groningen's nightlife but sometimes lack knowledge for safe choices.
Therefore, an online info point is needed!
Bar Training
The GGD developed a bar training to teach staff how to handle sexually transgressive behaviour.
This training should be offered more widely!
More Education
The Night Council has developed and delivered successful education on sex, drugs, alcohol, and the night.
These trainings should now be accessible to a wider audience!
WHO I AM
My name is Misha Pchenitchnikov (27y), a driven connector and innovator in Groningen’s nightlife.
Since my teenage years, I’ve felt at home in the night. What began as a passion for going out grew into a career in event organization, safety, and night-time advocacy.
With a background at Paradigm, the Night Council, and as the main organizer of the UnMute Us! demonstration, I’ve been committed for years to a vibrant, inclusive, and safe night.
My mission? To further strengthen Groningen’s nightlife, provide space for talent, and truly connect people.
Together, we make the night not only more beautiful but also safer!

On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, the spectacle unfolds at EM2: the election night for the new Night Mayor of Groningen. This is where it will be decided who becomes the face of Groningen’s nightlife in the coming years. An evening full of passion, ideas, and engagement where you can make your voice heard.
The Night Mayor plays a key role in connecting people, strengthening culture, and ensuring safety at night. During this election night, the candidates will present their visions and plans to make the nightlife even more vibrant and inclusive. Music, performances, and a festive atmosphere complete the evening.
I, Misha Pchenitchnikov, am one of the candidates for the Night Mayorship of Groningen. With years of experience in event organization, safety, and innovation within the nightlife sector, I am determined to take Groningen’s nightlife to the next level.
